Venue: Goethe Institute, Nicosia, Cyprus

“Beyond …” is an international artistic and philosophical event which will be
organized and developed in Cyprus by several artists, musicians, thinkers and writers from
different parts of the world to explore and present the fluidity of limits human-beings set upon
themselves for different historic, political and social reasons. Our world-order has created many
artificial divisions in bodies and minds, on land and sea, inherited from layers of control
structures that have been imposed from top to bottom for millennia. Whether they be climate

crisis, immigration crisis, hunger and poverty, nationalism, religious extremism, sex and drug
trafficking, or helplessness in the face of natural or human-made catastrophes, we all suffer from
these problems, restrictions and limits. Once in a while in natural disasters humans come
together for brief moments of solidarity, but for most of the time they forget that they are all
bound together in human destiny and in planetary crisis. On the other hand, our world also offers
many resources to address these problems, if we heed those wise and creative voices, artists and
philosophers who offer pathways to overcome them.

Nietzsche Retreat, Sorrento, Italy: (postponed)

Venue: Sorrento tour through Philomobile

This retreat in Sorrento is prepared to explore the teachings of Friedrich
Nietzsche where he spent about six months from October 1876 to April 1877 and read books and
had dialogues with Malwida Meysenbug, Paul Ree et al. They also saw Richard and Cosima
Wagner during the time when they were also there. His stay in Sorrento was an inspiration for
Nietzsche for his aphoristic thinking and writing. In our retreat, we will read and discuss Human,
All Too Human, Nietzsche’s first book of aphorism. In addition to a daily reading/discussion
program, we will explore the historic and culinary richness of this part of Italy.

Project *Heart* in Vienna, Austria: July 1-4, 2025 (project duration: Jan 2024 - May 2027)

Venue: University of Vienna

Arts-based-philosophy is an emerging research concept at the cutting edge
of the arts, philosophy and the Sciences in which cross-disciplinary research collectives align
their research practices to finally stage their investigations in field-performances, shared with
the public… Our research explores the significance of the heart in artistic research and
performance philosophy from a cross-cultural philosophical perspective, partially based on the
concepts of the heart in the works of two artist-philosophers, in which philosophy already
became arts-based-philosophy: Nietzsche’s Thus Spoke Zarathustra and Aurobindo’s poetic
opus magnum Savitri. We generally assume that the works of artist-philosophers are not only
engaged in “creating concepts” (Deleuze), but their concepts are also meant to be staged
artistically to let them bodily matter in fact…

Venue: University of Lodz

"The images and narratives of crises have dominated the socio-cultural sphere
over the last couple of years, often anaesthetizing our senses and creating a further sense of
impasse. As Bernard Stiegler asserts, these perplexing conditionsrequire finding out how “to
think and care otherwise, that is, to change the very meaning of thinking” (2018: 237). For the
philosopher, to think means “to take care, to care for, which is also to say, to act, to do, to make
– (the) différance: it would always be to think the wound” (2018: 215). Thus, thinking with care
implies taking actions to heighten our responsiveness to the challenges the Anthropocene
poses…. The conference is devoted to the reconceptualization of the posthuman
condition brought about by the care turn. We invite you to consider how to
invent/create networks of care that could bring hopeful scenarios of endurance and
reconstruction of the planetary mayhem.

Nietzsche and Critical Posthumanism, Transhumanism, and Metahumanism, Cluj-Napoca, Romania: June 28-29, 2024

Venue: Babes-Bolyai University

"In order to explore the relevance of Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophical ideas
and theories in terms of the posthuman paradigm shift, it is essential to adopt an open and critical
approach. Such an approach should not only focus on Nietzsche’s philosophical legacy but also
delve into the antagonisms and convergences between Nietzsche’s philosophical theories and
concepts and Critical, Speculative, and Philosophical Posthumanism, Classical, and Euro-
Transhumanism, as well as Metahumanism. The aim of this conference is to thoroughly explore
the multitude of questions that arise from the ongoing and complex challenge of understanding
the potential impact of Nietzsche’s philosophy on the posthuman paradigm shift. These aspects
include the way we address the complexities associated with the emergence of new sciences and
technologies, human enhancements, anthropocentrism, the realm of posthuman art and
aesthetics, bioethics, and the realm of posthuman education, among other significant topics. The
conference endeavors to encourage open and creative dialogues among researchers,

philosophers, humanists, transhumanists, posthumanists, and metahumanists, who will present
their research in diverse fields such as philosophy, ethics, psychology, music, arts, bioethics,
emerging technologies, sociology, education, cultural studies, and more."

3rd Metahuman Futures Forum, Lesvos, Greece: May 28-June 4, 2024

Venue: University of the Aegean, Mytilini, Lesbos, Greece - Department of Cultural Technology and Communication

"The most striking fact about the current extinction crisis, whose most imminent but not only threat is Climate Change, besides the crisis itself, is the denialism of it practiced by humanity at large, including most of Academia and critical intellectuals, even in many fields of posthumanist thinking. Anthropocentrism seems to reign supreme, entering through the backdoor even there where beyond humanism discourses are proposed. The challenging of the totality of modes of destructive living enacted by certain dominant strands of the Sapiens since at least the Neolithic seems to be still a taboo even for the critical thinkers and many social, queer, environmental and animal activists. This includes, of course, the denialism of denialism itself."

My role/participation: Speaker (virtual participation).

posthumanism conference
13th Beyond Humanism Conference in Lesvos, Greece: July 3rd - 7th, 2023

Venue: University of the Aegean, Mytilini, Lesbos, Greece

"Two years after the outbreak of the pandemic and the distance or hybridity it forced our lives into, the 13th Beyond Humanism Conference is taking place as a live event, returning to one of the crucial places for the development of the several Posthuman routes of thinking, the University of the Aegean, Mytilini, Greece. It was there where in the 2nd BHC in 2010 the Metahuman Manifesto was for the first time presented and an emphasis to the Audiovisual was given. It was also there in the 6th BHC in 2014 where the emphasis to the Political was underlined. It’s now, after the pandemic and the two online forums (2020 and 2021) plus the hybrid form 1st Methuman Futures Forum in September – October 2022, that we turn to a new, hybrid, but with an emphasis to the live presentations event underlining the need for new reflections and new ideas on the Posthuman."

My role/participation: I work with posthumanists, including the organizers of this event, but am only able to attend virtually.
